Our Board Members
In addition to practicing as an attorney at ClydeSnow, Ms. Telfer is also Co-Editor in Chief of the Utah Journal of Family Law. Ms. Telfer focuses her practice on representing individuals and commercial clients in all aspects of family law matters, estate planning, business and commercial law including entity formation, business planning, and general business and commercial transactions.
Ms. Telfer attended the S. J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and graduated in 2005. She has published two articles on family law matters, The Quest for Custody: Custody Evaluations and Alternative Practices and In Re T.M.: Who Protects the Indigent Parents? Ms. Telfer has previously served as an attorney in the Office of the Guardian ad Litem at the Third District Court.
Mr. Hales is Founder and Managing Director of Tibble Fork Advisors providing independent problem solving for banks related to regulatory orders, management and board supervision, risk management, strategic partner lending programs, compliance and funding programs. Mr. Hales served as director, president and chief executive officer of Ally Bank from 2003 to 2011. He was responsible for the de-novo launch of the bank including the development of the management team, lending, risk, compliance, finance and treasury programs for the bank.
With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Hales has held many executive leadership positions. Before joining GMAC (later renamed Ally Financial), he was executive vice president, chief credit officer and chief operations officer at EnerBank USA. He also served as president and CFO of Advanta Bank and as CFO of American Express Centurion Bank. During his career, Mr. Hales has served on the boards of several banks, banking industry groups, and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Hales holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Utah and is a certified public accountant.
Charles Stormont, JD – Of Counsel, Fabian VanCott
Charles A. Stormont is an experienced trial lawyer and civil litigator. He was the co-founder of Stormont Billings PLLC before joining Fabian VanCott in 2016. He brings with him experience from large, international law firms and the public sector. Mr. Stormont’s practice focuses on eminent domain litigation and general commercial disputes.
When he is not practicing, Mr. Stormont spends a great deal of time chasing around his two children, trying to fix things around the house, and obsessively cheering on Real Salt Lake. To read more about Mr. Stormont’s experience and background, please click here.
Lisa Andrues – Treasurer, Sallie Mae Bank
In the past Lisa worked as the Enterprise Risk Leader at Synchrony Bank, the Treasurer at UBS Bank, U.S.A., and also served in various other positions in the financial services industry. She is currently a member of the Financial Literacy Committee of the Utah Bankers Association. Previously she served on the Credit Committee of the Neighborworks Board.
Nelson is a skilled communications trainer & consultant. He leads group communications trainings and coach’s individual clients. He also advises clients on strategy, messaging, crisis communication, and media relations. Nelson graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Political Science where he graduated in three years and was on the Dean’s List.
After Columbia, Nelson pursued an academic career in political science at Tel Aviv University before moving on to the Ph.D. in Political Theory program at Trinity College Dublin. While at Trinity, Nelson received the competitive Postgraduate Award for Research in Politics. Nelson withdrew from the Ph.D. program to pursue a private sector career.
Mr. Zimmer has over three decades of experience in risk and credit management for automotive commercial and consumer lending. He has also spent several years providing guidance to NeighborWorks Salt Lake, sharing relevant knowledge to support a position in community development lending and investment. He currently works for Ally bank, where he spent 10 years as a risk manager for their commercial automotive lending operation before recently transitioning to his current role as CRA Senior Credit Manager. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, skiing, cycling and wilderness volunteer work.
